PETA Slam Kanye West & Amber Rose For Fur Antics

PETA Lashes Out At Kanye West And Amber Rose
“Kanye can’t help making himself look like an idiot…”
While Kanye West was busy vacationing during Paris’ Men’s Fashion Week accompanied by girlfriend Amber Rose he raised more than a few eyebrows, in particular because of his choice to dress almost head-to-toe in fur.
Most perturbed by Ye’s choice of wardrobe is none other than People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA who’s seeing red after pictures surfaced of the couple in their non-animal friendly wear.
As previously reported, the organization targeted Kelis for her recent choices to wear fur leading to a battle of words between the singer and the campaign.
Now their latest targets are Kanye and Amber who they describe as “painting the town blood red.”
Obviously annoyed by the couple’s almost blatant disregard for PETA’s anti-fur message a representative for the company released a statement on their website saying,
“The prettiest people do the ugliest things For the road to riches and diamond rings . . . We’ll buy a lot of clothes but we don’t really need ‘em Things we buy to cover up what’s inside —Kanye West, “All Falls Down.”
West apparently lives by his lyrics. The ethical dropout—who horrified voters in PETA’s Worst-Dressed Celebrity competition last year—and his sleazy sidekick, Amber Rose, were snapped by paparazzi strutting around Paris in “the ugliest things,” indeed. Both were wearing head-to-toe fur, and Amber refused to remove her full-length lynx coat during a show at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
Putting the final nail in the coffin, the rep quoted the Vice President of the organization denouncing Ye and his side piece as “pathetic creatures.”
As PETA V.P. Dan Mathews so eloquently put it, “Kanye can’t help making himself look like an idiot, whether at an award’s show or a fashion show. He and his girlfriend look like pathetic creatures from a shabby roadside zoo.”
What do you guys think? Fur for Fashion? or Animal Cruelty?
Personally I like fur but to be honest I have no quan’s wearing fake fur, if its for fashion its only about how it looks, who cares how it feels unless your sleeping on it, also I would only wear fur if the animal was dead already so basically it wouldnt be cruel. I would NOT condone killing an animal just for there hair, that being said I like leather goods but thats a whole different kettle of fish.

R&B & Pop Goddess Janet Jackson covers Wonderland Magazine for their February/March issue, the mag recently shot the pics sometime before christmas but this is the only image to be fully revealed since the news broke of this issue. I’m loving the top with the shoulder blades complete fierceness, also I’m glad were seeing Janet on a lot of fashion magazine’s again I’ve always loved her style so it’s nice to se what a stylist can create for a shoot as opposed to something for a music video. Eagerly awaiting to see the rest of the shots as well as read the interview. The magazine hits newsstands on February 5th.

Death Becomes Her (1992) Film – Appreciation Post

Death Becomes Her is dark-comedy film directed by Robert Zemeckis in 1992, it stars Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep, and Bruce Willis. It won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, but in my eyes it should have won some fashion awards too.
Goldie and Meryl look amazing, mainly it was Meryl that caught my eye the woman is made for high-class bitchy films *thinks back to The Devil Wears Prada*. She looks completely fab in this film its definitely something you should watch if you love fashion and like to take inspirations from things other than magazines and street trends.
Check out this teaser below:
Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010) – Official Extended Full-Length Trailer
Such a great film Janet Jackson fans enjoy as this one is focused a lot more on her character. Sadly I doubt it will make its way to UK Cinema’s as the first film wasn’t released over here , however Tyler Perry did a great job casting and directing this so if you can somehow get to see it you really should. It’s funny, witty, and the drama leaves you wanting more, fingers crossed that this film debuts at No.1 like the first, always wanting the best for Janet!
Why Did I get Married Too? is scheduled to be released at US Theatres on April 2, 2010

Love the looks presented in this sample from the Wild At Heart spread. Shot for Teen Vogue’s February issue this shoot features Julia Hafstrom who looks great in her 50s style get-ups. Raquel Zimmermann for W magazine – February Issue 2010

Again another shoot that the styling wasnt completely my style but I think sometimes it’s important to look at things and see why you don’t like them to broaden your mind. As for this shoot the first shot got me, it looks evil, not in a good way lol. However in the last shot the Silk Burberry outfit kills and I’m loving that.

Doll Parts: Natasha Poly For V #63 by Glen Luchford

So the main reason I posted this was for the first shot, I love the dress and I love the ‘crown’, I find it intriguing that the dress has so much going on but still manages to look good, however the rest of the shots I found dull but I thought maybe some of you readers might like them better so I posted them as well. Hope you like.

Myf Shepherd For Numéro #109 By Matthias Vriens-McGrath

Loving this shoot the retouching is great, that over-exposed style is quite refreshing to see aswell since we havent had much shoots like that lately. Fashion wise, its crazy, fun, quirky, slightly rocky and plays homage to that which was the 80s. Loving the hair.

Eniko Mihalik by Greg Kadel : Fashion Cinema
Love love love, I don’t even need to research to know Eniko is wearing Christian Dior’s New Look from the 50s. Ah I love it too much, I wish more women would dress like this but sadly you’ve all moved on and don’t want to go back to being “chained to the kitchen sink” lol. It’s ok I loooove the empowering look anyway, but the elegance, the chic-ness, the glamour, you can never replace that, total femininity.
Greg captured this beautifully, a lovely production yes.
Re-Worked Denim Trend: A How-To Guide

Ok guys so you know re-working denim is such a big trend this summer, I found this spread which literally shows you how to pull it off easy. First things you don’t need to go out and buy a whole new outfit, this look is about working what you’ve got. Try to keep the denim as simple as possible no excessive patterns, buttons or fades unless your trying to make a statement.
Work with lighter shades of denim to keep the look feeling new and fresh and try to keep the denims roujnd the same tone you dont wanna pair bleached with stonewash. Think slightly 1970s with this.
Use either one statement piece of jewellery to keep the look simple, or exotic coloured accessories to add a bit more jazz. Remember not to over do this, keep the accessories to one boundary of colours, blues, pinks, oranges etc you dont wanna go overboard as this will draw attention to other areas of your body.
Lastly to keep this chic you should know you don’t need heels to make it work, if you have them go for it, if you don’t flats in brown leather shades will work perfectly.
So there you have it have fun.
