Freja Beha Erichsen for Vogue Nippon – August 2010

This fantastic 70s themed shoot features model Freja Beha Erichsen and is for Vogue Nippon’s August issue; photographed by Terry Richardson these cinematic set of photos look amazing, not to add the styling is major-retro but true to a modern-day interpretation of the 70s; girls could easily wear these looks now and be totally on trend for the coming season.

Brand New Day: Vogue Nippon August 2010 by Paola Kudacki

This fashion spread for Vogue Nippon’s August issue by Paola Kudacki showcases some of the hottest luxe looks by our favorite designers this winter. The styling is quirky, edgy, and fresh with Aurora Sansone using a variety of different textures, colours, and materials to make this shoot (pop).

Dior, FendiMax Mara, Hermès, Burberry Prorsum and Ralph Lauren are my personal faves from this spread, but take a look at the images and pick your favorite looks for this winter below:

Eniko Mihalik for Vogue Nippon – August 2010

Undeniably it was the Balmain A/W 10 dress above which attracted me to this shoot, simply the design is just pretty flawless much like everything else in that collection, bur it was after seeing that, that my eye caught this jaw-dropping dress below, the red sequins…the deep cut v, I laid eyes on this fantastic dress then all the other fabulous outfits followed after.

Now everyone knows behind Black Red is the most impacting colour; sometimes meaning lust sometimes meaning power,  either way the colour surely demands attention which is what Eniko Mihalik screams in this shoot for Vogue Nippon’s August issue, take a look at more of the images below:

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Vogue Spain – July 2010

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: Vogue Spain, July 2010

Something really drew me in with this shoot, possibly it’s the 80s esq hair, or the rock-chicky fashions, either way Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looks great in this piece for Vogue Spain’s July issue.

With big sun-kissed hair Rosie comes out looking like a trendy lioness on the prowl, styling wise the leather pieces have been used differently in each shot contrasting the lux textures against the lighter colours and patterns, most of all I really love the way the shoot seems almost modern but almost retro at the same time.

A fun set of pictures take a look at the rest of the shots below:

Dioni Tabbers for Vogue Italia (Beauty) – July 2010

Dioni Tabbers: Vogue Italia July 2010 (NSFW)

Apart from the 50s & 80s everyone knows that I just loveee the glamour from the swinging 60s; very Carnaby St. bombshell this shoot is for the beauty segment of July’s Vogue Italia.

Featuring Dioni Tabbers as the pin-up, she does nothing but execute this theme to perfection, shes starting to give Lara Stone a run for her money. Love the styling, love the hair, love the make-up, check out the other amazing pictures below:

V Magazine #66 “The Sexy Body Issue” Scratch-off Covers

*faints*… *wakes up*…*faints again*

Can I say how much I LOVE these covers; pretty much every issue V Magazine does the covers I like, or they inspire me in some type of way, but these are just simply DI-VINE, V have had some iconic issues before and this one is definitely sure to join the ranks.

Adriana Lima, Lily Donaldson, Eniko Mihalik, Isabeli Fontana, and Natasha Poly, each model brings their own sexy swag to the images while looking luxe, composed, and completely confident in what they’re doing.

Out of the 5 covers my favorite would have to be Isabeli’s which I think trumps them all, then Lily’s which no doubt is the runner-up, both models appear to have mastered the art of being sexually appealing to a mans eye, while working the fashion-interests of a woman’s, in this day and age what more do you need to sell fashion…

Check out the amazing covers and video trailer below:

Gisele Bundchen for Roberto Cavalli – Fall 2010 Ad Campaign

Know for his signature animals prints Roberto Cavalli glams its up once again, but this time for his latest advertising campaign; featuring none other than top model Gisele Bundchen she looks STUNNING in the shots which capture her in scorched desert-type location.

Dynamic duo Mert & Marcus are behind these marvelous shots and have managed for the umpteenth time to capture luxurious imagery which not only fits for fashion, but could also be sold as art itself.

Take a look at the other fantastic shots from the campaign below:

Raquel Zimmermann in “Girl Meets Boy” for Vogue Paris – July 2010

LOVE LOVE LOVE the styling in this shoot by David Sims; with Raquel Zimmermann as the featured model she does nothing but wear these clothes with the ultimate edge.

The rolled up jeans, deck shoes, and white socks channel a Michael Jackson esq /Grease type feel, while showing a re-emerging trend for summer into fall too. I absolutely adore the use of denims and leathers in this shoot, it seems in each shot the styling has been made to represent a different personality, all to which seem really authentic and true to that rockabilly style, a definite thumbs up from me.

Check out my favorite pics from the shoot below, I just die at the first and second shots…

How Cool Are These?: Stripper ‘Tips’ Perspex Heels

In the money: Taylor's perspex heels say 'tips' and have dollar notes inside. In June they were empty, now they're packed with dollar bills

These bad-boy’s were worn by none other than Taylor Momsen of Gossip Girl, looks like she been racking up the cash too; with a slot directly cut out in the lucite heel all I can say is it takes a girl of courage to work those mamacita’s

Check out the full length photo below, Taylor recently sacked her stylist and is now donning her own looks…

Ben Grimes for NAAG by Robert Harper

Ben Grimes: NAAG, June 2010

Loving these shots by Robert Harper, they have that matt-gloss type effect which makes them even that more luxurious. The styling in the first and last shot KILLS, I’m just loving that leather skirt & blade belt, also that dress in the last shot makes me scream whyyy don’t they put that much effort into mens design, the white paneling with those embellished shoulders looks so glam, lets not even talk about the lower arms, fxxking amazing!

This shoot features Ben Grimes and is for NAAG the online venture of which fellow model Agyness Deyn is the creative director.

Emily DiDonato for Numéro #115 – August 2010

Now you guys know I love a black and white shoot, but I literally DIED when I saw this cover for next months issue of Numéro #115, the shearling jacket just gave me major-jolts of happiness, while the fashion forward double collar and neck-belt really sent me reaching for my credit card.

The fabulous model featured is none other than Emily DiDonato who killed the shoot in her Leather jackets and Fur get up’s, kudos to the stylist.

Ginta Lapina for Sportmax – Fall 2010 Campaign

Fresh from the House of Max Mara this is the fabulous new the campaign from Sportmax; fronted by Ginta Lapina it’s no doubt that her bleached-out look makes these photos that tad bit more fierce. The mindblowing hair against the pale snowy skin makes for showing the collection at it finest, while creating some shots that are truly artistic and inspiring.

I’m in love with the wool mix coats and dresses, but its the added fur that really makes me gush.

And Now, Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Program…

IMG_0978-5 copy

So for the last few days I’ve taken you from New York, to Paris, to London Fashion Week, but now its time to return to our regularly scheduled program of fashion on top music, more fashion, and then a dash of DeVeaux inspiration.

I’ve been talking about things that happened a few months ago so really I’ve just been dying to get back into talking about what’s happening now.

First off some of you sent emails asking whether I was still doing the:

Shoe 101 & Styling You posts…I AM

Shoe 101′s will never leave this site simply as I love shoes too much just look under my bed lol, as for Styling You although it was a new category I made last year, I didn’t get much time to exploit to its fullest but my plan now is to make it more personal; you will have outfits picked or approved by me so basically I will create them, or if the pieces chosen by a magazine I wont post them unless I completely agree with how they show to wear them.

Lastly slight changes will be made to the visual aspect of the site within these next few weeks, and apart from that there’s still some things up my sleeves career wise too, but I’ll reveal in due time, it’s all for the greater good.

Keep you posted….

-xoxo

London Fashion Week: See You Next Season

So that’s my London Fashion Week recap, I did have more images to show but the quality isn’t too good, sadly over exposure from the runway lights caused the models to look like balls of energy…literally.

On another disappointing note I seemed to have lost my pictures from Todd Lynn, I wanted to show you all when I sat across from Janet Jackson, but they’ve disappeared along with the video footage I took mysteriously *annoyed face*.

But anyway…

I hope you’ve all enjoyed the fabulous things I saw during AW10 of London Fashion Week, I can’t wait til next season I’m sure I’ll have even more to tell you, but till then enjoy my forthcoming posts, I’ve just been dying to write about all the latest happenings.

Full Steam Ahead.

-xoxo

London Fashion Week: Says Goodbye to Alexander McQueen

This fashion week many hearts were filled with sorrow over the terrible loss of Lee Alexander McQueen, to lots of us it s came as a HUGE shock, I didn’t know what to think at first, it was only a few weeks before I was reeling off the creations from his last show, little did anyone know it would be the last show he would give the world.

A true fashion legend McQueen used unconventional designs along with shock tactics while developing new styles and trends, always pushing himself to himself the next level his accomplishments are anything a British designer could want.

I’m truly sad that he is no longer with us, I was very inspired by his work and was really looking forward to his next collection, but now mostly I hope that he’s in a better place now and that he can be at peace.

Long live McQueen.

London Fashion Week: Opening Ceremony Shoe-Boots

Loving these Western influenced shoe-boots by Opening Ceremony.

Hot from their AW10 collection these cutey’s can be worn with a variety of relaxed looks including my personal recommendation ‘Boyfriend’ Jeans

Try getting a pair in a longer length than usual and then rolling the hem up so it rests on the top of the shoe without looking taut, another style would be to pair it with some oversized sweat pants in a rich grey shade to emphasise the texture differences.

Keep it simple on top, fitted white v-neck t-shirts or a plain white oversized mens shirt adds sex appeal without trying to hard.

London Fashion Week: Tata-Naka, Are they Jeans or Are they Jeggins?

Are they Jeans or are they Jeggins?

These funky creations are by ex Central St. Martin’s graduates Tata-Naka, while they look like Jeans and Jeggins they are actually neither it’s an illusion provided by the latest digital fabric-printing techniques.

I saw these from afar thinking they were actually jeggins because of the shape, but when I took a closer look I was so surprised when I ran my hands along the pockets and it was flat. The colour detailing on these pants are simply amazing wearing them down the street you could fool many of people into thinking you actually had denim on, a very well designed piece.

These pants are from Tata-Naka’s AW10 collection and will be available this winter.

London Fashion Week: French Sole Bedtime Slippers

These svelte slippers are by British brand French Sole; founded in 1989 by Jane Winkworth the company specialises in ballet and ballerina style shoes.

When I saw these slippers I gasped noticing the cutesy embroidery around the toe area, automatically thought they wont have it in my size (because it’s a women’s brand) but I was pleased to find out is that their shoes go up to a UK 11.

I don’t know how many times I’ve been to a shop and seen clothes that could have easily been designed for a man but it’s too small to fit the average mens size, so this was really pleasing to me.

These Bedtime slippers are from French Sole’s AW10 collection and will be out online and in-stores this winter.

London Fashion Week: Meeting John Rocha Backstage

While backstage at John Rocha I was able to meet the amazing designer and hear his views on being in the fashion business for over 25 yrs, and hear his feelings on his new collection, and how long it took to produce.

As I listened I felt really inspired, it only made me want success more…

It’s sad because before this I never really looked into John Rocha and his designs; I’m so embarrassed to say but when I was younger I always thought he was just a designer for Debenhams, after that his name just slipped to the back of my mind and I forgot about him.

Anyway everyone makes mistakes but what I’m so glad of is that not only did I have the opportunity to meet him, but I was also to be able to see his show and go backstage to see his collection, it’s definitely one of my highlights from London Fashion Week AW10.

London Fashion Week: Backstage at John Rocha

So before the John Rocha show AW10 the fabulous Bryan Morel PR allowed us in for a quick look backstage at the collection before it hit the runway; I was completely amazed at the detailing, the construction, the choice of materials…, Just from seeing them hanging I knew the pieces where gonna look AMAZING on the catwalk.

It’s interesting as well because usually when I go backstage things are very hectic, very disorganized, last-minute changes are being made and etc, but here it seemed very calm and relaxed, so if those thing s were happening it was being handled in the most civilized way ever.

Take a look at some of my snaps backstage below:

London Fashion Week: PPQ Afterparty @ RUNWAY

After the fabulous show down at Somerset house me and my fashion contemporaries Mr.Joel and Miss Lily attended the PPQ after-party at RUNWAY nightclub in Bloomsbury, London.

High off adrenaline from all the shows we attended that day we  just couldn’t wait to let our hair down a mingle with the other fashionista’s who attended too, last season Kanye West and Amber Rose were in attendance so secretly I was hoping we would see them they’re but they were unable to make it.

It didn’t take long for us to leave, the club became way to crowded and started to become a pain, plus the drinks seemed watered down so that was are que to call it a night and take this quick snap above.

London Fashion Week: Back At The PPQ Showroom

I was so in love with PPQ‘s AW10 collection that after the show I made it a vow to go and see the pieces in the showroom; its one thing seeing it live on the runway… all the lights, the adrenaline, the gorgeous models… it acts as a distraction, so this time the plan was to see the pieces and give them my full attention, no distractions.

The coat above is a MUST HAVE for me, I love the tailoring, the subtle hints of velvet, the cinched waist, the emphasized shoulder… I was pleased to know that it still looked just as fabulous; I would have tried it there and then but unluckily it was a sample size so wouldn’t fit*sad face*.

Anyway check out some more of my snaps from showroom below:

London Fashion Week: Front Row at PPQ – AW10

One of the hottest shows at London Fashion Week AW10, PPQ never fail to live up to its reputation.

This season the brand cooked up a collection consisting of  Party Dresses, Play-Suits, Trench Coats, and Short Tuxedos in  Black & Gold solely, while Lurex, Wool, Velvets, and Furs dominated the materials ensuring each look was rock-chic and luxurious.

My personal highlight of the collection was the Outerwear, the designs screamed showstopper but they weren’t overly constructed or heavily detailed,  the simplicity with an edge that really showcased the designs at their best.

Overall sex, confidence, and independence translated through the collection which is the perfect combination to sell these clothes to the brands work hard, play harder clientele.

Take a look at some more of my snaps from the Front Row below:

London Fashion Week: Heather Blake Shoes

These fabulous shoes are by British designer Heather Blake; known for her sculptural designs and use of  different textures, Heather Blake shoes are a great way to stand out from the crowd while being totally fashionable and on trend.

One thing I particularly love her style of shoes is the wedge heel which has been consistent since her first collection AW09…

Check out some of my other faves below, seriously that heel is whispering my name…
